How you survive as an exhausted working parent.
5 golden rules to live by...

Howdy,
Being a working parent feels like running a never-ending marathon.
Juggling work deadlines.
Managing household chores.
Attending parent-teacher meetings.
Taking care of sick kids.
Finding little to no personal time.
It’s tough. 😩
Unfortunately, I don’t have a hack for getting you more time in the day.
But…
I do have a 5 golden rules that will help you fill up a tank that’s been running on empty for a while.
Let’s dive in…
If you were forwarded this email, subscribe here:
1. Review your wins.
Spend 10 minutes writing down personal and work wins this year.
Growing sales 20% has equal importance to getting your kid to swim lessons 2x/week.
Why do this?

2. Close out your phases.
Write down the main phases of life over the past few years.

It’s done.
Stop carrying the weight.
Now, possibly the most important one...
3. Take power back.
Find one thing you...
Have total control over
Can easily do
Feel great doing
If you can control one thing, you can control two things...you get the idea.
#4. Pretend you're 80.
When your kid has a 30-minute tantrum about water being wet...
Imagine:
You're now 80 and get to go back in time but ONLY for this outburst.
Would you do it?

Because with a bit of perspective, you realize it’s all so fleeting.
So, even in the toughest moments, remember there’s someone (probably future you) who would give everything to trade places.
Here’s my favorite one…
#5. Be selfish.
Schedule 30 mins-1hr/week on your calendar to do whatever...

Seems counterintuitive but, if you want things to change sometimes you need to stop caring so much.
To recap...
If you're running on fumes, here's how you fill up:

Your weekly knowledge drop
Insight from Daily Dad.
We worry a lot about how to set are kids up for success in the future.
And, in doing so, we lose track of what’s important.
We focus on minor things like milestones that make little difference.
So then what matters?
“A taste for literature and a turn for business.”
If your kid likes to read and is enteprising they’ll go far.

This isn’t some mental model that sounds cool, but you end up forgetting 10 minutes later.
It’s an easy, tactical way to get more done.

P.S. We’ve all been here. But, what if I told you there’s a better way to captivate your kids in the car without a screen?
