Einstein was not a genius in school.

So, his mom took an unorthdox approach (plus a šŸŽ inside)...

Howdy,

Einstein sucked at school.

But I don’t need to tell you he was responsible for some of the biggest scientific breakthroughs later in his life.

What gives?

Well, his mom lived by 1 golden rule that unlocked a passion for learning.

Let’s dive in…

But, first…

One of my biggest challenges as a working parent is making it easier for grandparents, babysitters, and au pairs to take care of my kids.

So, I spent 5+ hours putting this guide together.

I appreciate you spending your precious minutes reading these each week.

Ok, now back to Einstein…

Since traditional education was rough for him, his mom came to this realization…

Here’s what I mean…

At home, the focus wouldn’t be on comprehension.

Or test scores.

It would be about exploration.

And one day, she struck gold.

She thought the violin might get him to sit still and focus.

She was right…it became a passion for him.

As an adult, he stumbled into some of his best physics ideas while he was playing.

There’s an important lesson here…

School isn’t everything.

For many kids, it is a drain.

Your job is to help them find enriching activities that fill up their cups.

Your weekly knowledge drop

Insight from Dickie Bush.

You spend most of your day trying to get people to listen. Kids, colleagues, bosses, spouses. The list goes on…

You may not feel like one, but you’re a content creator. And, life gets a lot easier when your message resonates.

I stumbled across this framework for creating better content that’s used by pros (steal it):

Let me put it to work, using the longest-running study on human development as an example.

  1. What problem am I solving? Distilling down the insights from the longest-running study in history on human development.

  2. Whose problem am I solving? Parents who are overthinking it, and need to focus on the basics.

  3. What are the benefits of solving the problem? A more stress-free approach to parenting, letting the small stuff go.

  4. What promise am I making to the reader? If you do these things, you’ll be better off.

  5. What emotion am I trying to generate? ā€œohh, so I don’t need to follow 157 influencers on Instagram and read 100+ books to figure out how to parents. I need to focus on the big, obvious things.ā€

  6. What’s the next action I want my reader to take? This was originally a social media post, so the goal was to get someone to signup for this newsletter.

The purest thing I’ve seen all week…
